CHRIS ELDRED

I am interested in information technology, training, and media production positions. I passed the CompTIA A+ exams. I have extensive experience with a variety of technology solutions typically found in classrooms. I can manage macOS and Windows workstations, iPads, Chromebooks, digital video and still cameras, document cameras, scanners, photocopiers, PA systems, 3D printers, and laser cutters. I routinely present tutorials using a projector and produce tutorial videos that are published in a Learning Management System. My teaching experience included a lot of technical support in a public school setting.

In addition to my classroom experience, I have led numerous professional development sessions in my district and at MACUL. I have assisted with updating the school’s website and coordinated the yearbook for 6 years.

For my contributions to our learning community, I have been recognized by the Howell School Board on several occasions. I am proud to have been recognized by both Microsoft and State Superintendent Mike Flanagan for collaborative projects.

2022 to Present
I am a Technical Support Specialist for the Livingston Educational Services Agency. I support Brighton Area Schools staff and students with desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, interactive screens, and online resources.

2002 to 2020
I taught Applied Technology and STEM at Parker Middle School. Applied Technology is a STEM class where students build and test projects. I have presented numerous technology PD sessions and produced the Parker Middle School Yearbook for six years. More information about Howell.

2015 to Present
I was elected to the CTH Board of Directors in the fall of 2021. I am also the webmaster for Community Theatre of Howell since 2015. I supervised the conversion of the website with a new content management system and host. I continue to update the site and manage some of the e-commerce operations. More information about CTH.

Masters of Educational Technology
2004 to 2010
I chose to get my Master's Degree in Educational Technology because of my interest in how technology of all kinds is used in an educational setting. One of the main areas of study for this program was online learning, which I use to create media I make available online for students to access at home.

B.S. in Secondary Education
1997 to 2002
I studied Industrial Education with a focus on graphic arts. I worked as a graphic arts lab assistant for two years. I interned at West Intermediate in Mt. Pleasant, MI. My certification is Industrial Education (IX) K-12.

Audio Engineering Certification
Fall 1994
I studied audio engineering and live sound reinforcement. I continue to use my expertise in media production, theater, and live events.

Lesson Design
I am well versed in many of the G Suite for Education tools, including Google Classroom. I routinely created assignments and instructional media for classroom and online use.

Educational Technology and Online Learning
I am skilled at using computer applications to accomplish a wide variety of tasks including video editing (Example), website creation (Example), desktop publishing, CAD, 3D printing, and many of the computer skills a teacher requires.

Professional Development
In addition to my classroom experience, I have led numerous technology professional development sessions in my district and at the annual MACUL conference among others.
